Professional Workshops
I have given dozens of workshops and clinical trainings for local, regional, national, and international organizations. My areas of expertise include:
- Family therapy and family systems theories
- Couple therapy, including Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gottman Method Couple Therapy
- Sexual and gender minority (LGBTQ+) clients, including couples and families
- Consensually non-monogamous relationships, including polyamory and “open” relationships
- Working with clients who are part of the BDSM/kink communities
- Taking a sexual history and addressing client sexual concerns in individual and couple therapy
- Clinical skills for broaching issues like race, class, sexuality, disability, age, etc. in psychotherapy
- Weight and body size as a dimension of diversity; Fat Acceptance, Health at Every Size(r), and weight-neutral approaches to body image issues
- Creating a welcoming and inclusive organization, for clients and staff
- Transferring clients between therapists, especially in organizations employing trainees/interns
- Supervising pre-graduation mental health trainees in community organizations and clinics
- Addressing issues of identity and diversity in the supervisory relationship
- Use of video and live observation in supervision
